Cold Dead Fingers //6

You guys.  Yesterday I was outside working on The Nugget and my phone beeped (which I normally ignore) but I was seriously looking for an excuse to come inside and die for a minute.  It is SO hot right now.  Anyways it was an email that made me laugh and gave me a bit of an adrenaline rush of the Cold Dead Fingers sort and I just had to share it with you!

I [deep breath] die. I just made the purchase (with as much drama as one Salvation Army could give me – bottom of the tag missing, announcement over the speaker that someone needs to claim it if they have the ticket bottom, wait 5 minutes for a response and gasp…double check the log book) of a retro black leather sofa with REAL wood trim THAT HAS A HIDE-A-BED. Ok so the hide-a-bed is potentially (most likely) disgusting and I’ll cross that bridge when I get there (no I didn’t check it before I bought it – look at the photos and you’ll understand I needed it ASAP and without distractions).

I bring it home tomorrow which is when my husband finds out I bought it. Sorry for the run-on paragraph, all caps, and parenthesis but I’m still in shock.

Seriously Angela.  You win the internet today with this AMAZING find.  Also, how do you feel about adorable creative children?  Because we might be able to make a trade…

Now for a few faves from #colddeadfingers, because who doesn’t love seeing amazing scores?  No one, that’s who.  Its impossible.

Yes.  Just yes, to this $60 Franco Albini wicker lounger that Lea found on Craigslist.

Welp. Color me jealous.  This couch that Brynne found is the stuff of myths and dreams.

These nightstands would make me want to rearrange my entire house too Sabrina.

2 things.  Emily found this shelving unit for $15 and her man is excited about it.  I feel like she should make her way to Vegas because

$5 tulip chair. Need I say more?

I havent been thrifting since the Hoard Sale wrapped.  I think I need to go today, I mean, what if I am missing something amazing?!

Make sure that you hashtag #colddeadfingers your favorite furniture scores so that we can see them and be super excited/jealous about it.

Woohoo! So excited to see my sofa up there! We stopped for celebratory drinks on the way home and I was convinced a Chesterfield-nabber was going to wrangle it out of the truck and make off with it while we were inside. Spoiler alert: apparently the local sofa-snatchers took the night off.

I want EVERYONE’S #colddeadfingers scores so badly! What a killer living room they would all make!

Welp I’m good on the kids – I have two but thanks for the offer. I find that they are a ton of work ;P If you lived closer I could see us trading furniture often. I could make a long list of stuff I would beg you for.
The couch is in the car and SUPER heavy. All I can think about is how mattresses gain weight the older they get (I’mgonnapuke) so that thing will be taken out to the curb. My husband’s reaction should be interesting as he hates when I bring home new furniture. I own a prop rental business so I do this quite often, but this one will be for the house and is much more masculine than the yellow Victorian loveseat it will likely replace. Wish me luck!

Well, you simply rock it with the amazing hide-a-bed feature! I wonder how you came across those amazing finds. I am sure I am going to find something as interesting as this soon. Keep us all posted!

It’s a fact that mattresses become heavier in time and too tough to be moved easily. Anyway, I just love your findings, especially the way you hunt them! And yes, the tulip chair is a really a gem of a furniture piece. I’ll want to get one for my drawing room!

I tried to follow the website to the two campaign nightstands. No luck. I couldn’t find them on her website. I have the matching dresser.
