#ColdDeadFingers // 3

It’s that time again my friends!  Time to be completely awestruck with the amazing furniture finds of our fellow readers!  Remember if you have a piece that you love so much it can only be pried from your Cold Dead Fingers hashtag #colddeadfingers on Instagram and you might be in the next edition!

There are SO many great pieces,  I think I need to do a Cold Dead Fingers post every week for the rest of my life to cover them.

The first piece is an awesome dresser from owlkillstudio.  I am obsessed.

No more Ikea dressers for this girl.  #thankscraigslist

Loving this tufted sofa that Alissa found!

Our new (free!) sofa is finally staying with us at our house.  It is amazing quality, just needs a little reupholstery love.  I am #obsessed with it and its potential.  #wouldmarryitificould  #thankscraigslist #interiordesignstudentonaroll

I wish I could come up with some cute remark about this amazing campaigner.  I cant.  I am too jealous.

Went to Goodwill in search of a system to corral my son’s toys.  And this gem was just sitting there. $25, some touch up paint, and a whole lotta Lysol + elbow grease later, we have a new toy chest!  [AND let it be known that I unloaded from the truck + carried/slid this sucker up a flight of stairs by myself.]  #impatient

I would have SO picked this skull up from Homegoods.  Great find lady!

Raux Smilodon (saber-toothed cat) skull @homegoods,  on clearance.  It makes me smile.  #colddeadfingers

If there are 2 things in this world I love right now it is gold and geometric anything.  This lamp is what dreams are made of.  (For those of us not lucky enough to score something this amazing at Goodwill,  Nate Berkus for Target has one that is similar here)!

I owe the East Brunswick Goodwill and apology.  Today I was leaving to drop off some donations and referred to it as the “Badwill” because it never has cool stuff.  Then I found this dope lamp for $6.99.  Now I will be calling the store “Dopewill”.  #colddeadfingers  #goodwill #brass #lamp #januarycure

And last but not least, there was no way that I was not going to share this AWESOME picture from Enie.  Girl, your Mother In Law wins the internet today (and your Mid Century record cabinet is fantastic too…)

My mother-in-law is one hard rockin lady.  Here she is doing a dance off with my brother-in-law at her birthday bash in our old living room.  Did I mention that I’m homesick?  I miss everything about this picture!  (Yes, that’s the record cabinet Don Draper had in his last office.  And yes, we had to leave it behind when we came back to Europe.  And yes, I shouldn’t care about “stuff” but I do get easily attached to my vintage treasures.) #colddeadfingers

Thanks to everyone that let me share their Cold Dead Fingers pieces today!  MUAH!

Check out the other Cold Dead Fingers posts here!

Make sure to hashtag your favorite finds so we can all be SUPER jealous too!  #colddeadfingers

SABER TOOTH SKULL. AHHHHHH I LOVE IT SO MUCH. I would proudly display it in my house and you most certainly would have to pry it from my cold, dead fingers.

  • Enie Mittendrin 16.01.2014 at 18:30

Aw! Thanks for featuring my crazy snapshot! Such wonderful company to be in.
Suppose my sweet MIL really is my favorite of all our vintage treasures. 😉

  • Tania @ Run To Radiance 16.01.2014 at 18:41

These are such great finds! Ahhh! My favorite is the couch. Drool.

  • Gwen 16.01.2014 at 18:59

That couch! That couch! I’ve been searching for one just like that… I bet I could pry that from her Cold Dead Fingers. I’ve got some new wrestling moves thanks to my 9 Year old wrestler!

I hope I still dance in 30 years! Never stop, Enie’s MIL!

    • Alissa 16.01.2014 at 19:31

UH OH…good thing I dated a wrestler in high school…it has been a while but I think I could still bust out some of those moves! Haha anything to defend my pride and joy 😉

Well this was my first comment but it didn’t go through: I am still pinching myself over that sofa find! I told my husband that I would never be unfaithful, but if I was, it would be with that sofa. Not even ashamed. I do have to say, the filter is very forgiving – it has been in an upholsterer’s storage space for 5 years and is super dirty. We are going to splurge on a re-upholstery job, though. I’ll have to give you all an update.

These are my absolute favorite posts! I love love LOVE them so much, I can’t express it in words. I just went to my local Habitat today and bought two pieces of framed artwork. I walked in just intending to browse with my mother, but I just can’t help myself! Thanks for sharing what others find in their stores. It makes my day <3

  • Adelia 16.01.2014 at 22:27

thanks so much for featuring my campaign dresser! it actually came with 2 matching end tables, for the deal of the century. I’ll have to post pics of those soon. if only I had a smilodon skull to hang above it. and that lamp to put on top… awesome finds all around. thanks Mandi!!

  • Narine 17.01.2014 at 10:51

Oh goddam! I’m in love with that vintage dresser <3. Would love to have that placed in a minimalist modern bedroom !! Gorgeous!

Thanks for the feature, Mandi! Good detective work with the Nate Berkus for find. Not to gloat, but I think that is the actual lamp I got at Goodwill. I believe Target stores donate their super-clearanced and damaged merchandise to Goodwill (the lamp I got has a tiny dent on it – I have no idea why that means it’s worth TEN PERCENT of its original price but I am sure not complaining!)

There’s often like-new or mildly damaged Target merchandise at Goodwill. In fact, in that same trip I saw some neon tights from Target that I almost bought to try your lampshade trick 😉

Oh, you know, just catching up on some of my favorite blogs, when out of the blue my heart STOPS. My face contorts into an extremely unflattering OMG expression, and I just about pee my pants a little. I can’t believe my campaign toy chest was there smack dab in the middle of this post!!! ACK!!! Thank you, thank you!! I’m so flattered and completely over the moon! Thanks for making this gal’s day!! xoxo mommy_spice 😉

  • Natalie @ paper & Birch 19.01.2014 at 20:30

Wow, that couch is GORGEOUS!! Love that you found it on Craigslist. There’s so many great finds there. :)

  • Hilary 23.01.2014 at 07:35

Wow, I cant believe I got featured on your site! EEEKKK! Amaze! I almost scrolled right past it, but then I was like “HOLD IT! that looks familiar- ERMEHWERD that’s my picture!! 😀

I love that faux Smilodon skull so much, but it’s so big I haven’t found a good place for it just yet. (and when my husband seen it he was like, “Uhhhhh…why…?”

Oh well! I love cats and I LOVE all things paleo. This thing is just so me!

Mandi, will you please come to my house and help me find the perfect home for my big, extinct kitty-cat skull? I’ll even let you play with my two non-extinct felines if you do! xD

Thanks so much for the feature! Love YOUR guts too!!
