So. Itchy.

By Mandi 04/03/2013

What is it about spring time that makes me want to change everything in my life?! PLEASE tell me that I am not the only one that experiences this.

I am ready for new projects, and new design, and new well, everything.

The room on the scratching post first is Dylan’s. I took it from this:

To this:

How to refinish furniture blog

And that is basically where it has stayed for a FREAKING year.

It was great to take it back to a white space but it had like zero personality (besides that awesome rug). It is 1000% not Dylan and I am itching to change it.

First thing to go?

The carpet. The painted concrete floor in Ivie’s room has held up amazingly well and carpet is the Bain of my existence. So that is the project we are starting with.

Hopefully I can cure this itch before I start changing something else…you never know.

Do you have a spring itch that isn’t allergy related? Tell me all about it!

Another fun announcement that I have today is that I have started writing for a new AMAZING blog called The Interior Collective. You MUST hop over and check it out,  it is full of killer information and designers. It is a weekly column so I will be sure to give you a heads up when a new post is live!

  1. I am itching to get rid of as much of our stuff as possible! We are moving back home to Atlanta from Alabama, and I want to be as light as we can be. I have been doing a lot of reading up on simplicity and minimalism and have slowly been letting our CRAP go. But I am so ready to hit it hard an only be left with the things we actually need!

  2. Here in San Antonio, Spring fever hits me in the middle of February each year and I want to visit the plant nursery on every lovely day. (Visiting = purchasing plants…but that was kinda obvious.) This year I had it so badly that I redid two flower beds, filled in three others and created a new one. I like to think that my hobby is cheaper than fashion, but it might not be. At least my husband shares this same itch, albeit to a lesser extent: he had his 18 tomato plants in the week after Valentine’s Day.

  3. I know exactly what you mean! Spring fever hit me big time this year, so my itchy spot is our yard. But it’s still pretty cold and muddy here in Minnesota so there’s not much I can do about it until May. Which is probably a good thing, since I need to finish our kitchen first–I started scratching that itch over four months ago and we’re still cooking in our living room. 🙂 The itch is a dangerous feeling!

  4. Glad I’m not the only one. I think for the last 3 springs I have changed the paint color and done other major overhauls in my house and it’s happening again 😀
