CRAP!

You guys! I'm sorry I haven't posted the MERRY sign tutorial yet! My computer LITERALLY crashed...to the ground....and it crashed my hard drive. I am waiting to hear back if it is permanently dead or if we'll have our own little Christmas miracle.

I will be posting the tutorial as soon as I'm up and running again.

So, I'm getting a new computer for Christmas, and  I want to know what should I get?

Love Your Guts, Mandi

  1. I love my Dell Ultrabook! Its fast and pretty lightweight. I've never been a Mac girl, so I don't know much about them, but I have not had any problems with Dell. Good luck with your search.

  2. I finally made the big switch to mac. I had been a pc girl since the 80's and was sick and tired of my laptops dyeing every 2 years. I had an iPhone, iPad and so when my pc dyed this spring I bought a iMac and I have to say there is a learning curve with the switch because pc is second nature to me but many things are a lot easier on the mac. Good Luck with your decision.

  3. I'm a Mac girl and I love them. I just upgraded to a new macbook pro and I haven't had any issues with it.

I also recommend services like Dropbox or Mozy or Carbonite for backups so that if you have a crash, you won't lose any information... Saved my bacon a couple of times. :)

  4. A Mac. I bought a MacBook last year after years of being a diehard PC fan. There's a bit of learning curve but I will never go back. Do it. It's a bit more expensive but they last way longer!

  6. Macbook Pro! LOVE LOVE LOVE mine. And I have a Powerbook (OLD) that is at least 10 years old and boots up and runs everything just fine too. Longevity is definitely on the Mac side for me at least.

  7. If you like small laptops, I have a Dell Inspiron Mini, and its a pretty good computer. The only problem I've encountered in the 3 years that I've had it, is that it doesn't hold its charge for very long. But that could be because I need a new battery. Anyways, it's an overall good buy.

  8. Santa brought me a Mac two Christmases ago…I cried…I can't remember the last time a material good has made me that excited and happy!! It's awesome. My husband's company just switched to Mac laptops too and the best thing about it is the lack of viruses and the help from the Apple store when there is something wrong or that you don't understand. Highly recommend!

  9. A Mac Fo' Shizzle ;)
I have been using them for a little over 15 years now and I just threw out my dinosaur G4 this year but not because it wasn't working anymore. They are the best, especially when you work with graphics.

  11. Lots of Mac supporters. No surprise I guess given the topic of the blog. Mac computers make you pay a premium though for pretty much no added benefit. I'm sure that will be their ultimate downfall in the end. Personally I would check www.newegg.com, anyone who knows anything about computers is a newegg user. It will probably have everything you are looking for with choices.

  17. I have a Macbook Air. I love it. The only thing is the Air doesn't have a disk drive, so if that's something you need, then you should go with the Pro.

  18. That sucks! I dropped my hard drive a few months ago and lost all the photos from my Europe trip, and had been stupid enough not to back them up that time. Hope you manage to retrieve everything from yours!
