Lucky Studio 5 Winner!!

By Mandi 08/24/2012

I am headed to Salt Lake today to get started making over this room:

Gritt Before

If you saw the Studio 5 clip you will remember that I only have $150.00, which is INSANE and super exciting all at the same time!! Because I mean I cant buy like 2 pillows and call it good. It has to be Mandilicious and awesome and a dramatic Before and After. So we have lots of big plans and lots of work ahead of us..

There is something that I need your help on though.

Do you live in the Salt Lake valley and have old jeans that you don’t need? If you do I will love you forever!! Would you be willing to donate them? Or I can pay up to $.50 per pair (I am a big spender, what can I say…). Please email me vintagerevivalsblog at gmail dot com and I will arrange the pick up!!

We also need some possible on call painters for Saturday. (The house is in Downtown Salt Lake)

So now I want to know, what would YOU do with $150 in this room? Luckily for me Gritt (the winner) is a lover of all things minimalist. The projects are going to be saweeeeet. I am excited to hear your ideas so gets ta sharin’!!

The Studio 5 episode will air on Wednesday so set your DVR’s (and I will blog it as soon as it is online for all you non-Utah gals!!)

AND the most important part. There is a HUGE announcement coming on Monday that I PROMISE you will want to know about so make sure you stop by!!

Love Your Guts, Mandi

  1. Sorry, I don’t live anywhere near Salt Lake City and I would never part with my stack of old denim. Are you planning to make a scrap quilt for that room??? That would be awesome 🙂

  2. Carpet = gone. Why not embrace the “loft feel” (aka the uber omnipresent vent pipe) and faux paint the subfloor like concrete? My 2 cents 🙂 I am sure you will knock this one out of the park as usual Mandi!!

  3. i have only a few pairs, don’t know if it’s worth you stopping by. but if you want to I’d gladly surrender them. we’re in the south end of the valley. Wouldn’t it be cool to try to make that vent look like an exposed beam? I’d also work with that shaggy looking carpet and get a 50/60s, mid-century, madmen vibe.

  4. gurrrl. i’m so excited. there is like nothing i like better than an awesome before and after. wish i lived closer! i would come and paint and be a mandi assistant.

  5. Please get rid of that carpet!!! Industrial, minimalist loft vibe is perfect. Fortunately, there’s already furniture. You could even paint a fun design on those curtains or sew on some ribbon in a cool, modern design and keep them too! The rest is paint, accessories, and maybe a chair?

  6. I’m kinda hoping that this is a rental and you CAN’T rip up the carpet!!! (sick, I know) I have the same exact nasty carpet, but live in a rental home, so I’m stuck.
Can’t wait to see the transformation!!!!

  7. I feel like there is one of those hideous denim quilts in their future. Oh the horror!!!
