My Surrogate

By Mandi 06/01/2012

Well, sort of.

Remember my DREAM couch that I showed you yesterday? Lets look at her again shall we? (sigh)

Retro Velvet Couch

Perfection on tiny golden casters. I think we need to name her…

Anyways.

I mentioned that I bought her from one of my friends after she posted about it, so now I want to share with you my couch surrogate!! Kathy from Danish Mama.

Danish Mama

She will always be my Surrogate because technically she cared for and nurtured this beautiful piece of couch baby until it was delivery day (haha get it!? Delivery day!! Sigh.). Then she kissed her goodbye (actually I don’t know that but that is what I would have done.) and I totally have the easy job of threatening my children with their lives every time they even THINK about bringing food/drink/playdoh into the living room.

Kathy is one of the funnest and most adorable women that you will ever have the pleasure of meeting.

First of all she is Danish. I mean, for a homegirl from Utah THAT is a huge deal.

She is super business savvy. Kathy has a great company called Little Stinker that is all about safe and natural ways to treat all baby induced ailments (think engorgement after delivery, nursing cream and their signature product, baby bum spray) and uses her blog to showcase great companies and fun products. My favorite posts are ones where she flashes her Danish heritage like this recipe for Brunsviger (Poor Mans Birthday Cake)

And if being adorable, Danish, an incredible business owner, and a cook isn’t enough she does fun stuff like gardening with her kiddies.

And I would totally encourage following her on FB, you know just incase she has any more ridiculously fab pieces of furniture that she is incubating for us all.

Love  Your  Guts,  Mandi

  1. Ok Mandi, I know I’ve said it before but I will say it again… i am smitten! your sofa is divine!!! a name? Ursula? (my son always thinks of a dainty girl with flowing red hair that wears bright colorful clothing in velvets & lawn & gauzy fabrics with a bright bubbly personality!)

Isabella? Mirabel? Suzette? Yes all names that come to mind when I see her. Bright perky with a sense of whimsy type names…. with a touch of the exotic & elegance. (well not suzette so much but it just popped into my mind when i saw your sofa)

  3. Oh, I am still dying over that couch! Thanks for introducing me to Danish Mama. I hadn’t been there before and am having fun looking around. (By the way, your text link to her site is broken, but the logo link is working. Maybe you could fix it so no one gets thrown off?)

Also, thanks so much for visiting and commenting on my new blog! I feel so honored for the first comment on my blog to be THEE Mandi Gubler 🙂 Your FFA Club was the kick in the pants I needed to start the blog I’ve been meaning to start for years, so thanks again! You are so supportive of others and I really admire that about you.

  4. Kathy is awesome! And busy! I think she does a little bit of everything! Love the lines of that couch and I can’t wait to see what you do with it.

  5. Carmen, She looks like a Carmen to me. A hot little latina darling! I just love her too, too much!!! Can’t wait to see what on earth you have up your sleeve for that room, ma’am.
