Best Glass Cleaner Ever!! Fish Foam Giveaway

By Mandi 11/21/2011

So you might learn a little more about me today than you were anticipating on a Monday Giveaway post.

I hate cleaning. Really ask my husband, mother in law, sisters, neighbors who randomly come to my door and aren’t let insideโ€ฆ I love having a clean house but it tends to get pushed down the list of importance some days.

So when I got an email from Nathan @ Fish Foam asking if he could do a giveaway on my site for some I almost said no. BUT in the email there was a link to a post by Shelley @ House of Smiths.ย  Little did Nathan know that Shelley is one of my best friends.

So I did what anyone would do, I called her right up and said โ€œShelley what do you think about Fish Foam?โ€ For 15 minutes she told me how awesome it was. So I emailed Nathan and told him to send it on over.

002

Ok now you should know that I am not a cleaning products connoisseur. I donโ€™t have my best favorite things that I always use that you have to go to a special store to get. For the last little while I have been using Windex Antibacterial becauseย  its an all surface cleaner and its antibacterial. Its fine on everything but glass. My girls LOVE to clean the coffee table in the living room. Its like their favorite chore. I was getting frustrated cause every time they cleaned it it looked really hazy and streaky. So I would go back over it and guess what?โ€ฆhazy and streaky. But by that point someone (Dylan) is usually dancing on it so I am over it.

So I get the Fish Foam in the mail and I was excited to see if it really was as awesome as Shelley said.

OH. MY. GRAVY. There are not words for how amazing this glass cleaner is. I called one of my friends to tell her about it and said โ€œI donโ€™t think people are going to understand HOW incredible Fish Foam is.โ€ She told me I should make a video.

Which I did not do.

But.

It makes your glass so clean that it is actually brighter. That might sound strange but that is the only words I can put on this freakish phenomenon.

Fish foam

This is what I am giving EVERYONE on my list for Christmas.

One of the best parts about it is that it is a foam spray so I used TONS less than I did with my other cleaner. It is also Drip Free,ย  which is HUGE especially when you have kids helping you outโ€ฆ.if you know what I mean.

It is an alcohol based product which is why it cleans SO good. There is no ammonia, or wax.

Thatโ€™s right I said WAX dudes. That is in most other window cleaners. No Wax= No Streaks and Fogginess.

Also I went online after I used it fully expecting it to be over $10 a can (judging by how FANTASTIC it is).

Nope.

How about $3.94. Less than the product that I had been using.

So if you want to buy some go here!

And you should also know that most cities in the US have professional Fish Foam Window Cleaners. (Check out Shelleyโ€™s post for more info on that!)

So do you want some!? I PROMISE you do.

I am giving 3 -3 packs away!! You guys SERIOUSLY donโ€™t know what you are missing out on by not using Fish Foam.

  1. We have toddlers… NO glass surface is safe!! The worst has to be the entertainment center glass though!

  2. We have a storm door. With my 18 month old and 3 year old touching it all day long it get’s pretty gross. There are also the boys who come to play with my oldest who touch it and dirty it up on the outside all day long too.

    theredkiwi (at) yahoo (dot) com

  3. I also did a random kindness today, I let an older gentleman have the close parking spot at the gym. It was cold, dark and wet, but he got inside quickly.

    theredkiwi (at) yahoo (dot) com

  4. We have a beautiful glass door in our living room that never looks very beautiful due to the handprints that are ALWAYS covering it no matter how often I clean it!
    hlvognetz at yahoo dot com

  5. I have a little girl that comes to play everyday. She waves goodbye to her mom through the living room window while licking it. It has to be the filthiest, most in need of cleaning glass surface in my house!
    [email protected]

  6. It’s gotta be my back door, which is one big window, basically. I even have birds that fly into it and leave their feather-prints on the outside. Between them and the kids, it’s a losing battle! Thanks for sharing!!

  7. I feel like a broken record is happening here but as a mom I agree any glass surface is difficult to keep clean when children and pets are involved! This stuff look awesome! And I love that there is no ammonia!

  8. With a 4 year old – no glass stays clean. It’s especially bad when we’re out at a restaurant or store and he’s messing with the glass/mirrors right in front of the staff. Do they make a purse-size?

Thanks for the chance to win!

  9. The thing we have to clean the most is my daughter’s TV in her playroom. She’s 2 and likes to draw on it and smear her leftovers on it. Yeah, it’s a daily chore and it’s gross. ๐Ÿ™‚

  10. finger prints and water stains drive me nutty! I have to clean my mirrors and windows almost everyday to rid of them. But the hardest to clean is all the pictures I have on my walls on tables. I need this one! Thanks!

  11. I have two places I have a hard time with , Front door glass ( dog nose ) And the oven door , it’s always streaky .

  12. While my tv and entertainment center get constant finger prints, I’d really love to take this to my parents and use it on their back glass door. Multiple grandkids ages 1-7 make that door covered in fingerprints…and licks!

  13. Random Act – Going to pick up my friends fruit order along with mine. No sense both of us going out in the crappy weather!

  14. The hardest thing to clean are the windows in my kitchen. I have one above the sink and large sliding glass door which I cannot get clean. If I don’t win I bookmarked the website to order some.

  15. I used to have glass top tables in my living room & they were impossible, but I don’t have those any more… now the hardest thing to keep clean is this big front window we have that my dog likes to hang out in & get his nose snot all over every day… good thing he’s so cute!

  16. The worst thing for me to keep clean is my bathroom mirror … enough said! Even when it’s just cleaned it never looks clean enough, hate that!

  17. I would use this magical stuff on my bathroom mirror. I don’t know HOW my husband manages to get so many water spots/toothpaste spots/etc on it, but there it is… every morning.

  18. My random act of kindness will be sponsoring a local family for Christmas. They are the sweetest. The mama is unemployed, the daddy is working part time (lost his job), they have three children plus just took in three nieces/nephews because they had no where to go. Truly a blessing to know these people!

  19. The windows on my doors get it the worst! Especially in the winter when the little ones can’t turn the knob on the door with their mitts on and then plant their faces on the glass peering in!

  20. The windows in our truck! The windshield is a royal pain in the tush – continuously fogging up and showing streaks. Our back windows have doggie nose art all over them so this would be great!!

Thanks for the opportunity to enter.

  21. I am intrigued. Hardest to keep clean glass is the back door out tho where the kids play. Between dog nose prints and grimy hands it needs a lot of cleaning

  22. With two boys, I’ve tried to rid myself of glass table tops and things, but there are, of course mirrors that are always riddled with fingerprints. Also…wondering how this would work on my stainless steel kitchen appliances…

  23. The bathroom mirror. I swear every morning my husband must spit his toothpaste out on the mirror. It drives me crazy and then I can’t see well enough to do my make-up!

  24. Oh my goodness! My windows! My windows! My windows! They are terrible, and I just can’t be bothered to “clean” them, and end up with a streaky mess.

  25. Our family room windows are 12 inches off the floor and go nearly to the ceiling. Add in two little boys, a dog with a freakishly wet nose, and a husband who likes to leave the occasional math equation smeared onto the glass — and you see my problem!

  26. RAK — this morning, I volunteered to roast a turkey for a surprise dinner for some other volunteers and their kids. Stealth turkey, oh yeah!

  27. The outside of our windows are the worst because the sprinklers hit them all summer long. I seriously doubt this product will clean the mess, but I’d love to give it a try!

  28. Like everyone else, our glass backdoor is ALWAYS dirty! Between a three year old and a dog, it never stays clean too long. That or my bathroom mirrors, yuck! I would LOVE to try this!

  29. Our front door is glass and I have two little boys. There hand prints are all over it (along with whatever was on them, playdoh, paint, pasta sauce) and that’s just the inside. Outside, my 4 year old loves to wash the glass, either with his hand, dirt, or a spray bottle. It’s always dirty!

  30. I have a two year old so any glass surface 4 ft. high or under (or if it is high and can be reached with a stool) is impossible to keep clean!

    genny2118 at gmail dot com

  31. Hi Mandi,

I’m entering this give away because it’s very difficult to get a clean bathroom mirror. I take care of my SIL who has Down’s syndrome and she’s constantly spraying the mirror when she brushes her teeth. It seems like regular cleaners never get the glass truly clean.

  32. My sliding glass door going out to my deck…….I have two dogs that are constantly leaving paw prints, and I have a 15 month old that takes care of the inside.

  33. I would love to try this out, I have so many Windows that I can never get clean! Mandimalboeuf @ hotmail. Com

  34. I never win anything, so I went online to order a can of the Fish Foam and as I was checking out, I realized the shipping for one can is over ELEVEN DOLLARS! What a bummer. I was going to give it a try……

  35. Aside from windows, the kids’ bathroom mirror is what really is the hardest to keep clean at our house! Thanks for introducing us to a great product!!

  36. My front picture window is the hardest to keep clean because I have the cutest dog ever that leaves nose prints where ever he goes!!!

  37. I have the hardest time keeping the sliding glass doors clean with the kids and the 85 lbs. chocolate lab who constantly has his nose up against it!!! glowingrn(at)gmail(dot)com

  38. My toddler loves looking out of any window he can reach, which means there are hand prints and smears on most windows in my house. I’d love to try fish foam!
    andersonclanatmacdotcom

  39. My patio door is the hardest glass to clean. It’s the only one that both kids and the dog can all slime. It’s nasty.

  40. Nothing glass stays clean here! I would actually try to clean the glass if I had something “mandi-endorsed”! ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks!
    Nat
    doodlecraft.blogspot

  41. Where do I start? The computer desk (which is glass) the laptop screen, the TV screen, about 2 feet up the sliding patio door where my 2-year old smears it with who knows what…

  42. It is impossible to keep my front storm door clean. Our boxer is always snuffling her nose on it. Dog nose prints – ALWAYS!
    Karen
    dragonflyu (at) verizon (dot) net

  43. Just got home from taking my sis-in-law to the supermarket 3 towns away (her market of choice) to get her shopping for Thanksgiving done.

    Karen

    dragonflyu (at) verizon (dot) net

  44. So I don’t have kids (yet), but I do have a big German Shepherd dog… who leaves his big nose prints all over the glass on the door to the back yard. Seriously, I think he knows when I clean, because the glass looks the same about 10 minutes after I clean it!

  45. Oh, the french doors looking out to the backyard…my toddlers look like little jailbirds begging for freedom!!! They’ll smoosh faces and rub fingers on each glass block, begging to go outside.

  46. My front windows… my dog licks it, my cats rub there hairy backs against it, my 9 year old likes to see his hand prints on it, and to top it off my older kids do blow fishes all over it. Then the sun shines right in the window everyyy morning and i cringe cause windex just dont cut it ๐Ÿ™‚

  47. My front window. My daughter loves to stand on the back of the couch and pound on it as she waves to everybody and everything outside.

    bloghappy (at) gmail (dot) com

  48. My t.v. screen because for some reason the kids think they need to touch the characters! And the black appliances that ALWAYS look terrible and I seriously clean them daily! By the way, your ideas are FABULOUS!
    [email protected]

  49. For my random act of kindness…I spent most of today sewing a teeny tiny dress for some close friends who recently lost their baby who was just born too early. It’s been a hard day! ๐Ÿ™

  50. Wow! The difference is amazing!! The first thing I would clean is my ginormous mirror in my entryway! It is so ornate and beautiful, but always shows smear marks when I clean it. I hope to win so I can try this product!

  51. I have the hardest time cleaning the wall of windows in the back of my kitchen. They are always streaked and when the sun shines through they look terrible. I’d love to try something that works!
    Susan

  52. We have a glass coffee table that is so hard to keep clean and streak-free. You’re right about the streaking with that other product you used to use before you tried the Fish Foam!!! I would love to have a great product like that! Thanks for the chance!

  53. With three little boys and two dogs, everything is a mess, but my slidding glass door is the hardest to keep clean. It always has that haze to it that you are talking about too. Of course it looks out onto a lake, so company is always staring at it…drives me nuts!

  54. Our little one room cabin has many, many windows. When the sun shines through eaach morning the need for a good glass cleaner is obvious. Not only are there prints from children and pets…but streaks from where I’ve cleaned. Would LOVE to try this product. [email protected]

  55. Our little one room cabin has many, many windows. When the sun shines through eaach morning the need for a good glass cleaner is obvious. Not only are there prints from children and pets…but streaks from where I’ve cleaned. Would LOVE to try this product. [email protected]

  56. I already like you on FB and tweeted about you!
I would love a chance to try out this Fish Foam. Like you, I use the Windex Antibacterial on everything and it truly sucks for the streaks left behind! My new black glass top stove is driving me insane with the cloudy streaks..every time I walk by it I have to get the Windex out…it’s driving me crazy I tell ya…help!
    Love your blog BTW.
    Hugs,
    Trudy

  57. I have a cat who furiously paws the bathroom mirror and the window in the back door. Her ears are back and her eyes are out on a stem and I just know she’s thinking, “Get me outta here! Get me the heck OUTTA HERE!” So I would put a can of Fish Foam to good use right away! Thanks!
    juliej87ebay (at) yahoo (dot) com

  58. My front screen door is glass from top to bottom and it’s definitely hard to keep clean!

The outside gets dirty from rain/snow etc. and the inside gets dirty from fingerprints and doggie noses!!!

  59. With the holidays coming, along with all the company, my front door sure could use a sparkling shine. What a wonderful way to greet my guests!

  60. I work at a grocery store. Today a very stressed out Mom came through my line along with her five grumpy, unhappy, crabby, very tired children. As I helped her out with her cart, I grabbed a bouquet of flowers and put it in the back of her minivan, without her seeing. Just the thought of her seeing them when she got home tickled me through the rest of the shift.

  61. I’m always cleaning the bottom half of my sliding glass door becasue my cats are always pressing their noses on it to look out over the ravine. Drives me NUTS!

  62. I would love to try this on the windows across the back of my house. They are mostly uncovered and the sun shines in showing all streaks. Fish Foam sounds just like what I need.

  63. Patio doors, dining table, living room desk, mirrors everywhere – you name it, we’ve got it. And we’re having a hard time cleaning it!!

  64. My random act of kindness….I organized a fundraiser for a co-worker who is going through a tough time…and we gave him the money anonymously. And I also got tickets to a college football game this coming weekend and gave them to the owner and teachers at my sons preschool…just because…=)

  65. I have the hardest time getting my windows clean. They are south facing and have hard water stains. The build up just won’t come off.

  66. My random act of kindness….I take my neighbors kids to school and pick them up so they don’t have to cross some dangerous roads or be in the cold.

  67. My sons bathroom mirror for sure. He has braces so when he brushes his teeth it looks like 500 people sneezed on the mirror with toothpaste in their mouth. haha. not kidding. I could sure use a good mirror cleaner. If it is fun to use maybe he will want to clean the mirror everyday. Now wouldn’t that be nice.

  68. Does hosting Thanksgiving for 8 of my husbands family members (who are sleeping here also…not sure where yet cuz we have no spare bedrooms) plus 6 other people count as a random act of kindness? haha! Plus I am trying to get over the flu! yikes!

  69. oh for something to clean my ancient glass front door – clean one second, smeary the next – have tried it all and it still looks yucky. Please let that random number generator stop my way!

  70. With an dog who likes to bark at everything moving, and all things IMAGINED moving, it has to be the back sliding door. ๐Ÿ™‚

  71. I have 5 very large windows in my living room to see the lake and they get so dirty and are hard to clean with the tree pollen.

  72. Oh, I’d love to have this for my mirrors and glass doors. My patio door doesn’t look clean right after cleaning it. Thanks for the chance to try this product.

  73. Cleaning my french doors leading to the backyard where the dogs lick, and breathe and who knows what else!!! GROSS!!!

  74. OMG my sliding glass door is permanently covered in baby handprints and puppy nose prints! HELP! And I already heart you on fb ๐Ÿ™‚

  75. The french doors leading out to the back yard! In one day I can have the entire neighborhood in and out of that door a dozen times!

  76. those darn toothpaste spots on the bathroom windows are what gets me good. seriously, who in my house is spitting at the mirror everytime!?!?!

  77. My patio door and I have no kids or pets. It’s finally getting cool enough to clean the windows and they are in desperate need!

  78. Oh My Goodness…. you just made my day! I would absolutely love to try FishFoam, and I really appreciate the giveaway. But what really made my day was your realness. In blog land it feels like everyone has it all together all the time.
    Thanks!

  79. mine is the coffee table, I feel like I clean it 4 times a day or it won’t be clean and it drives me crazy when it’s not.

  80. French doors leading to sun room always gets lots of licks by dogs!!Brenda in Charleston

  81. I have a really hard time keeping my picture window in the kitchen clean. My inside cats press their kitty noses to the glass while my outside dogs are pressing their doggie noses to the outside of the glass! Add to this a 10 year-old that likes to put fingerprints on the glass and you have one big mess to deal with!

  82. I LOVE how excited you are about this product, that I just had to enter to see for myself. The hardest glass in my house to keep clean and streak-free is the glass on the shower door!

  83. I have a dog that likes to look out the window all day – the problem is by “look” I really mean press her nose against the glass and smear it around! This happens to every window in my house AND in the car! gross.

  84. The inside of my car windshield. I seem to always be commuting right towards the sun and it is kind enough to point out every little bit of haze left over from my last attempt to get the window clean on the inside. Sigh.

  85. I can’t get the mirror in my entry way to be streak free and I have tried everything. This would be the perfect test for this cleaner.

  86. I have a hard time keeping my black granite looking clean and streak-free. That is what I would love to clean with this – as well as everything else.

    Kimmie

  87. I have a 1yr old boy and a big Newfie that like to look out of the windows together. Dog nose and little boy prints. I love to try out new products and would love to try out FISH FOAM!!!!

  88. My bathroom mirror. After one shower..it’s foggy and usually stays that way until I clean it again (twice a week). So for about 8 hours a week it stays clean. ๐Ÿ™

  89. Mandi, thanks for the giveaway!! My issue is a sweet 4 year old boy who loves to kiss himself in the mirror (so cute)! I probably wouldn’t care if it weren’t a huge mirror right in the middle of our sitting room!!!

  90. Oh my WORD! If this stuff works as well as you say…which I’m sure it does–I’ve got to have some!!! My 90lb. black lab loves putting his snotty nose on my sliding glass door, front door, mirror, windows and every car window……this would be amazing!!!

  91. I have a huge mirror in my guest bathroom and I never can get all of the streaks out not matter what I use. I would love Fish Foam!

  92. Our worst surface is the patio door. It always has kiddo fingerprints and mouth smudges on it – endearing yes, but I would love a great cleaner for when I can no longer actually see through the patio door due to the mess. Thanks for a great giveaway!

  93. My super sweet and beautiful 10 month old daughter loves looking at herself and kissing herself in mirrors, loves standing at the screen doors and licking the windows and to top it off I live in Albuquerque where it’s so dusty any time I clean my windows and mirrors it’s just like I’m smearing dirt around!!! I have never had a shiny or streak free window or mirror!!

  94. A glass table that ends up being a “catch-all”. I can not clean it enough! The babies crawl under it and therefore hand prints underneith it!!!

  95. The sliding glass door to my backyard. My Labrador puppy jumps up against it when she wants to come in. You can imagine the slime. I am constantly trying to clean it.

  96. Oh my goodness, I can’t decide if my sliding door or bathroom shower is worse. Probably the shower door, it was a rental before we owned it and ya…it needs help! So please, HELP! ๐Ÿ™‚

  97. And I watched my SIL kids today so she could run errands. As a Mom, I’m sure you know how nice that is to not have them for errands! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Haha

  98. HI Miss America!

So, I have 3!! sliding glass doors. I love my views of the bay area but… they are always streaking and sad looking.
Plus, I not only love a clean house, I love to clean!
yo. what else do you need to know?!

    Emily

  99. My kids use dry erase markers on our mirrored closet door, I CANNOT get it clean with Windex! I need this Fish Foam stuff to work!

  100. The front storm door! We just a brand new one installed and it is fully glass, and constantly covered in my kids prints. Plus they think it’s hilarious to put their mouths and tongues on it and make funny faces. Yeah hilarious ;P We just tried cleaning it last week with Windex and it still looked foggy and a mess. I’d LOVE to try this stuff out!

  101. The glass doors of our fireplace! We have a woodburning fireplace we use nightly (woodburning fireplace + logs my mountain man hubby chopped = no heat bill!) but the smoke from the wood turns the glass a yucky color, so thanks to my husband’s “cleaning abilities” the living room smells like Scrubbing Bubbles.

  102. The glass next to my front door. Every kid who comes to my door sticks their grubby hands and noses on the glass, while peering inside to see who is coming to answer the door. Ditto for all the kids IN my house who do the exact same thing from the inside. Double sided mess.

  103. My worst glass to keep clean is the window my westie lays next to during the day. There’s a definite area where her nose likes to go and it shows.

  104. We just moved into a new house and the whole back is sliding doors and big windows. Apparently since I’m 6 months pregnant I’m not supposed to do the reaching to clean them but this would so help me motivate my husband to do it. Purty please ๐Ÿ˜‰

  105. My random act of kindness was giving away turkeys yesterday to families in need. Was so nice to see so many happy and helped by such a little thing. Truly a thankful Thanksgiving.

  106. Oh my what wouldn’t I clean with this, my mirrored back splash in my kitchen, My 8 french doors, my glass kitchen nook table, my mirrored dresser & night stands and the list goes on & on!

  107. My house window the inside of the house. my dog is always putting his wet noise on them. Who would have thought that he would love windows so much. lol

  108. Like many others, it is the glass doors leading to my backyard. The dogs put their noses up to the window both when they’re in the house, and when they are outside wanting in.

glenda dot edmunds at gmail dot com

  109. Our babies (dogs) love to press their noses against the front window. It is totally adorable until I see the mess they leave behind for me everysingleday. = )

  110. I would love to try this out. I have a princess in my house … she happens to be in cat form. This princess loves to sunbathe in the windowsill. She looks lovely. Sadly, her little nose prints on the glass detract from the absolute beauty she exudes. Please help this little princess achieve ultimate adoration.

  111. My bedroom window by far. My bed is up against the wall with the window and it’s perfect height for lots of gazing (ie nose prints) by my two pups.

  112. My bathroom mirror is the hardest to keep clean. I swear I’m cleaning it 3 – 4 times A DAY! Between me in the morning, and my cats trying to find my hair scrunchies (they paw the mirror)…I’ve almost given up on it. ๐Ÿ˜€

  113. Oh My Goodness! I have a salon in my basement and a daughter….not a good mix, I have one of those GIANT mirrors at my station that NEVER and I mean never looks clean because of its size, it’s Ginormous! Please make my dreams come true Mandi! LOL

  114. I have an old house with three sets of french doors not to mention tons of old windows. I would probably use up one can just cleaning the windows once. Hope I win!

  115. BATHROOM MIRRORS!!!! seriously. sheeh, they need to be cleaned every stinkin day.. of course i dont clean them every day.. OH and the stove top. i use windex now. i wonder if fish foam would be awesome for that?.. hummmmmmmmmm

  116. Hi! So I would normally say that the interior cars windows are the worst!!! No cigarette smoke or anything, just normal dirt (whatever that is), but it drives me absolutely crazy!! I usually use a vinegar/water solution and it works quit well, but does leave streaks and you don’t realize you left these streaks until you are driving down the road with the sun facing you and there it is, ugh!!! But today I am complaining about that bathroom mirror. Quite a large mirror and it looks beautiful when it is done, until the sunshines on it… This mirror doesn’t just have streaks, it looks like a child smudged his grubbies all over it!!! I am almost giving up, but glad to hear there may be something that works!! Happy holidays and love, love your blog!

  117. Yep, it’s the sliding glass doors leading to the backyard. I’ve given up on the idea that they’re supposed to be clean, heh heh.

  118. Would love some fish foam. The inside of my car windows are so gross I can’t see in the sun no matter how many times I clean with windex and then vinegar water, still streaky.

  119. Love your blog…My 6 granddaughters, 7 thru 1.5 yrs old actually kiss, decorate with stickers, hand print, hand print and everything else on the large full length mirror. If this works fabulous on windows I can only imagine the wonders it would do on mirrors. Would sure like to give this a try. Keep the great ideas coming. I can’t get my house flipped fast enough!

  120. The back full view door ALWAYS has little hand prints of grandchildren and Yorkie nose prints on the inside and outside…. It sounds fabulous!! Would love to try it!

  121. Love the Fish Foam, guess what….it also works great on cleaning up paint that was dripped on a laminate wood floor. No residue left behind, no marks, nothing…just a clean(er) floor. Am ordering more cause I won a 3 pack from you and love it!
