Meet My Crafting With The Stars Partner and Hailee’s Room Update

By Mandi 09/27/2011

Are you ready to meet my Crafting With The Stars Partner?! I am SO excited to introduce you to Laura from Corner House!!

Her entry project was AWESOME.

Laura and I have been buddies for a while. She was in the top 5 for the Epic Room Makeover Contest

And I got to meet her IRL at the fun Salt Lake Girls Night Out

and I just need to tell you that WE ARE SOOOOO GOING TO WIN!

No really, her projects are freaking amazing!!

You might have noticed that this post is not the reveal for Hailee’s Living Room. That’s because it takes time to be awesome….But don’t get mad… Tomorrow I am posting a tutorial for one of the big projects, and for those that only want the big reveal I don’t think it will ruin it! I mean maybe a little but its not the 100% complete deal. You’ll see what I mean tomorrow.

And we are on the hunt for lampshades that we might need to order online. So the question of the day is where other than Target and Walmart do you buy them?

Also you can still win a 6 pack of Krylon Duel by voting for my awesome desk and mirrors!!

  1. I buy mine all over the place, thrift stores, Big Lots, Ross, Pier One (when i feel like splurging)… Good luck finding what you need… I’m sure it will be fabulous!

  2. I also buy mine all over the place but as of late… when I don’t feel like hunting I have had TONS of luck at IKEA. (Denver just got our first IKEA and the novelty of it rocks my world!)

  3. Cute! Check our Habitat for humanity restore!I bought a lamp and shade there that turned out to be amazing with a little spray paint!

  4. I have to agree with Heidi… we have recently found Lowe’s to have some surprisingly cute lamps and shades. Of course my other go to place is Target as the closest Ikea is over 3 hours away. Goodwill and other thrift stores can sometimes be great places to find unique lamps and shades. That and garage sales especially if I could care less about the actual shade but am just looking for the shape to recover.

    Have fun looking!

  5. Yay! You guys will be great together! Hey, I must have missed the post but who were all the winners? I tried clicking on your link but it goes to some “godaddy page”…..who is the host of crafting with the stars? sewdangcute?

  6. I’ve seen some super cuter lamp shades at the Washington City Downeast (by Kohls) and the ReStore had some last week. Can’t wait to see how you dress ’em up!

  7. As far as lamp shades go, you could always buy a plain white fabric one and recover it with more awesome fabric. You know, if you can’t find a pre-made one that you like.

  8. I voted for your desks and mirrors! Good luck! And it’s always inspiring, not to mention just plain ole fun, to see makeovers! I know it’s gonna be GREAT!
