I couldn't decide if I was just going to mount them directly to the wall or put a small piece of wood behind them. I also thought of getting old wood and mounting them to it coat rack style. But I just wasn't in love with any of the ideas. Yesterday I went to the DI (big surprise I know.) and someone had donated a few cabinet doors. They were really nice and modern I couldn't figure out why... anyway I grabbed 3 (they were $2.00 a pop) just cause. On my way home I immediately decided what I wanted to do!!
So I spray painted them Krylon Gloss White, distressed and glazed them. For the center one I taped it off and sprayed chalkboard paint in the center.
Then I drilled the holes for the knobs while they were mounted because the screws for the knobs were really long and I thought it would make it even stronger...
Ta Da! Cute right? And I loves me some functional decor....
Total Cost Of This Treasure:
Doors: $6.00
Knobs $11.00
Chalkboard Paint: $4.00
